Day 254 -Lydia's Imitation of Life

While eating Cheetos and going through the backpacks today, a chore I really don't enjoy, I discovered 3 things.

 1. You can microwave Cheetos back from stale to normal.

2.  Lydia's homework was somehow marked incomplete AGAIN this week

3. Lydia's in-class work is all correct and marked with smiley faces. Apparently she has lots of free time to draw during class.  Since she seems to be doing fine with what she's supposed to be learning while in class, and she likes to draw, I'm only mildly annoyed about the homework situation. (I did send an email to the teacher, just so I can figure out what is going on.)

Here's some of what she made this week in class. I made guesses about the pictures were,  but Lydia had to explain some of them to me.
She saw this painting while she was out shopping last
week and decided to recreate it, right down to
the seashells on the edge of the wooden frame.

I needed this one explained, it's a blueprint of entire our house.
It's fairly accurate  and detailed.  Each room in our house is included,
as well as where the furniture is placed in each room.
I tagged some of the major elements in the photo.

This was the picture I really didn't understand. I thought at first
it was a picture of us buying costumes at Costco, however I was
totally wrong. This is a picture of my high school, and students preparing
for Spirit Week. Once she explained the drawing, I realized
it was our high school gym, complete with the stage.

Not only did Lydia capture build day during Spirit week, but she is also
apparently pitching design ideas. This is her mock up of a Pirates of the
Caribbean theme. The purple squares at the top? The windows of the
gym. And she marked with Xs the areas where she thought we should be
using aluminum foil to make it shiny, like on the water splashes.

She also mocked-up a drawing for another Spirit Week theme,
this one based on Shark Week,  (she's never seen Shark Week...)
but my favorite part of the drawing was woman manning the
telescope (it's a telescope, not a cannon), which had a place for
a photocopied face of a teacher to be included, just like we
do during Spirit Week. And she included more Xs
for areas needing foil for shine.
