Day 168 - A little Disney shopping

We couldn't leave Disneyland without a few souvenirs from our trip. Teagan got a new visor to replace the tiny one from last summer and Lydia had her new hat, but we needed few more treats before heading home. First, the girls had leather bracelets made with their names on them in Frontierland.

Then we found some new shoes for Lydia, since we had lost her other shoes in the move.  That's one of the best things about having kids, you can buy them all sorts of things that you find cute but wouldn't buy for yourself.

Lydia and I also had a major shopping showdown in the the World of Disney, the gigantic store in Downtown Disney.  After getting her pirate hat, and her leather pirate bracelet, Lydia had decided that she would be a pirate for Halloween. And she decided she would be purchasing her entire costume before we left Disneyland.  The problem was, she thought that buying a t-shirt with a Mickey pirate would be all she needed.  I on the other hand, had a completely different vision of what a 6 year old pirate would wear for Halloween and was thinking something like this would be much more believable than a black t-shirt with a Mickey Mouse pirate on it. Unfortunately, Lydia didn't have faith that I could create a plausible pirate costume for her, apparently forgetting about the Queen of Hearts I had made for her six months ago. Of course in the end, I was able to convince her that I would make her a costume leaving little doubt of who she was, and that a sweatshirt would be a much better purchase.
