Day 245 - It's Friday!

Today is the first day of Labor Day weekend, the weekend that reminds us just how much fun it was to have the summer off, and then ends abruptly on Monday night.

The only firm plans I made for the entire weekend were to go to the San Jose Giants game tonight with a co-worker and her kids.  The evening didn't turn out exactly as we had planned, but it fun.

The girls and I had to stop by the eye doctor for my contact lens and the eye doctor just happens to be next door to Powells Candy Shop, so we went into look around.  The girls were more interested in the toys than the candy, and it was so hot outside, I made the executive decision that we needed to go get Slurpees instead of getting candy. While getting Slurpees, my co-worker called and suggested we get ice cream before the game because it was so hot. But because we were drinking Slurpees, we decided instead to go to Pizza My Heart and feed the kids pizza before the game.  However, her 4 year old was now fixated on ice cream, necessitating a trip to the ice cream store after pizza and before the game.  When you add pizza, ice cream and heat to two 6 year olds, a 4 year old and a 1 year old the result is utter chaos.

We gathered the troops and supplies and made it to the game, where we stayed exactly 1.5 innings before the kids had bounced in the bounce house, eaten a churro and had enough baseball for the evening. Back to the car we went, and returned home from our original trip to the eye doctor full of junk food and totally exhausted. Not a bad Friday night.
