My hair dryer caught on fire today. It make a strange popping noise and smoke started pouring out. It wouldn't blow air anymore, so I set it on the counter to cool off. About 10 minutes later, I came back and tried to turn it on again. It still didn't really turn on, so I a gave it a little shimmy, and next thing I know, flames are shooting out the end that is supposed to blow hot air. Not what you really see coming from something that is supposed to safely style your hair. Another pop and it was the end of the dryer.
I put it in the window to cool off before I threw it away, for fear that the heat would cause something to smoulder. It's kind of sad to see it die, but I have a backup dryer that will work for now.
