Day 78 - Pillowcases and Roller Derby

I was dead tired on Saturday morning, but there is no rest for the weary!  We had a busy Saturday planned.

Here's Lydia ironing her pillowcase.
We started the day at a Girl Scouts service project, making pillowcases for kids who are suffering from cancer. I sew in front of the girls all the time, but haven't been brave enough to actually let them try sewing (or pinning, ironing or cutting either).  But the service project was organized so that the girls could do almost all of the work themselves, with adult support.  I now might be convinced to let them try to sew a project at home, they both did a great job.

Finished projects!  And a grumpy Teagan.

After we finished our sewing project, we headed to Santa Cruz so I could go to my 1st roller derby bout. It's a lot of fun, and I can't wait to go again! My friend was a scorekeeper in last night's game, so I got to hang with the teams afterward. I don't know what was more entertaining!
