Day 197 - Hydrants and D-Listers

Today the girls and I made a big batch of kettle corn and headed .08 miles back to our old neighborhood so we could attend the yearly block party.

We came at a great time, since the fire department stopped by for a visit, opened the fire hydrant and let Teagan help man the hose...

The girls were a little wet when they were done playing in the hydrant. So wet in fact that I had to go to back home and get them dry clothes and underwear!

We had to leave the party a little early though, because I was on my way to see Kathy Griffin with my friend Steph.  Last October Stephanie and I saw her in Santa Cruz and she was hysterical, so we were really excited that she was touring again. An acquaintance had managed to win a Meet and Greet with Kathy Griffin when she performed in Santa Cruz, so we entered too, hoping that we would be as lucky... and we were! Well, Steph was, and I was lucky enough to be her +1.

Kathy Griffin is adorable, very teeny tiny, sweet and kind. They had the meet and greet in a strange room backstage with wine barrels.  There were only 16 of us that got to meet her and talking to her was like talking to someone you've known a long time. It's hard to imagine that anyone could dislike her, or get upset with her.

And then, we got to watch her new show, full of new material and she was hysterical of course!
