Day 137- Remote Assistance

My new remote arrived in the mail today. This week I had a kitchen tragedy.  The remote for the kitchen TV stopped working and I'm not even sure what happened to it. I watch that TV all the time; in the morning before work so I know what the weather will be and what is happening in the world, while making dinner and baking because it's a really good distraction and on the weekends the girls and I watch shows while we are eating breakfast. I didn't realize how much I needed the remote until it wasn't working.

I had to call DirecTV first and have an insane conversation about the remote before they believed that it was broken.  I had to turn the satellite box on and off, enter a million different code combinations, and reset the satellite box, all the while saying "The green light on the remote still isn't turning on, and it's still not changing the channels.  The best part was when she asked me to put new batteries in the remote  (No, it's still not working) and then asked me if I had a brand other than Duracell because those batteries tend to be a little shorter than other batteries and that might be causing an issue.  Um, what? I had never heard anything so silly in my life, and unfortunately I had no other batteries so I could test her theory.   Finally, she concluded that my remote wasn't working, and sent me a new one.
