Day 150- Cookies that weren't as good as mine

I really wanted a cookie this afternoon, but forgot it wasn't Sunday, it was Monday...two closed bakeries later, we ended up at Gayles and had a little cookie assortment.  The cookies were good, but they weren't mind blowing. sigh.
In order from best to worst:
  • Mom had a crocodile. But that doesn't really count because it's not really a cookie, its more a like a pastry and we all know that Gayle's has very good pastry.  I haven't yet even attempted something like that.
  • Lydia chose a cowboy cookie, which was a good oatmeal cookie, moist and chewy. It was  very good oatmeal cookie, but my oatmeal cookies are very similar.
  • I had an iced sugar cookie and Teagan a chocolate chip. Honestly,  I make a better chocolate chip cookie. Teagan's tasted like the recipe on the back of the bag of chocolate chips. It wasn't that exciting. The iced sugar cookie was good, but I wouldn't make a special trip to buy them. Not like Gianna's Sugar cookies, which are the best sugar cookies I have ever had in my life and I would gladly drive out of my way to find.
  • And I had a strawberry shortcake cookie too. Mostly because the woman in front of us had returned to Gayle's just to get more of them. That was the most disappointing,  it tasted exactly like the biscuits I make for my strawberry shortcake, but they had strawberries inside. They didn't taste bad, but it wasn't anything I would have driven back to Gayle's for, and it wasn't good enough to replace having real strawberry shortcake.
