But, tonight while the three of listening were listening to the story Lydia's tooth fell out of her head. It was all I could do not to pass out, and I actually had to run out of the room. I find the whole idea so awful and disturbing, your chidlren's body parts should not be falling off or out...Teagan had lost her 1st tooth last week, but luckily it occurred at school. I wasn't required to touch the tooth or deal with the bloody gap that was left behind.
I convinced the girls that I was "just fine" and looking for a container for the tooth, while I took 47 deep breaths and hid in the other room. Thankfully, Teagan took charge and shouted directions to Lydia from her bed about rinsing out her mouth and not accidently washing the tooth down the drain.
After I located and provided a container, Lydia put the tooth inside, and then thankfully hid the whole mess under her pillow. I did actually remember to put the tooth fairy's reward under her pillow that night, which was a $2 bill and a golden dollar.( I assumed that the tooth fairy deals in odd currencies). Unfortunately, I now have a small tooth in my possession and I have no idea what to do with it. ugh.
