I don't even know what day I'm on, because I have been working non-stop at school on my students' gym decoration. This year they chose the Wizard of Oz as their theme.
The gym dec has multiple constraints in terms of design and construction. We have a budget of $300, which limits the type of materials and supplies we can purchase. We have to work within a 6ft by 20ft area of the gym and can only use the class colors, which this year are green and pink. The class mascot has to be incorporated into the theme so, the Wizard of Oz was transformed into the Wonderful Cobras of Oz. We have to incorporate all of the other classes mascots (a phoenix, a superhero, and a warrior), as well as all of the homeroom teachers, and we have 9 mentors. Points are given for use of space, design, and construction.
,
Since I work with the junior class, their major concern is beating the senior class. To try and accomplish this goal they incorporated the use of a bubble machine (for Glenda), a strobe light (to light the Cobra of Oz), a cobra green glowing LED lights for eyes, and a "yellow" brick road featuring the names of every member of their class.
