Day 53 - Selena revisited

I was invited to participate in curriculum writing session for the California's Career Technical Education division (CTE) in Ontario. It's only a hop skip and a jump away from Orange County and one of my very best friends.

Being the good friend that he is, he braved 2 hours of traffic to have dinner with me.  While we were at dinner, we overheard the waiter tell another patron that there was a band playing nightly at the Doubletree Hotel across the street.

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to see a band, on a Tuesday night at an airport hotel. 10 minutes later, we found ourselves at Misty's with the strangest assortment of people I have ever seen gathered in a bar.

The band was a 1/2 funk, 1/2 Tejano, with a lead singer who may well have been Selena, if tragedy hadn't befallen her 16 years ago.  The band seemed to have a following, and the Bar Exam was going on at the Convention center so the crowd was quite a mixed bag.
