Tonight I recovered from our weekend of skiing by watching one of my favorite movies, Captain Ron.
The movie is described as a suburban family's adventures sailing through the Caribbean with the quirky Captain Ron. While that is an accurate summary, it overlooks the the subtext of the film which poses the question, how do you respond when life as you know it fails to provide you the happiness you were promised? And, just how far are you willing to go to find that happiness again? Those are uncomfortable questions to ask and to answer. Sometimes Humpty needs to fall off that wall, and putting him back together again is not only impossible, but ill advised.
Of course it doesn't hurt that Martin Short is obnoxiously hysterical and Kurt Russell isn't hard to look at.
